50 years in the fleet industry including; mining, retail, agriculture, bus and foe the last 18 years with BCC Studied at the Rand Afrikaans University in South Africa and Sydney University in Transport Management. Fleet is predominantly my background, became interested in Energy Management in both fleet, buildings and utilities. Responsible for Councils energy plan which includes; installation of energy savings initiatives – solar, power optimisers, EPC and other measures. Over 700 vehicles in the fleet, we were the inaugural to join the Premiers Clean Fleet, in 2008 we were the first to implement biofuels through-out the fleet, we assisted the EPA in the Vapour2 Recovery which led to the commercial station roll-out. From 2015 to date we have recently purchased a Hyundai Kona (EV) and a Renault Kangoo for the workshop, have leased Mitsubishi PHEV’s, installed charge stations in Blacktown for staff and the public. These stations were supplemented by Roof Top Solar Panels.
We are currently installing 10 smart poles with car charging facilities around the city, we were the 1st to install a roadside smart pole in Australia. I am also working on a total emission reduction for Council which will include a solar farm”
